The Lighter Side of Crochet!

Not all crochet work is big, thick, bulky and warm like a scarf or afghan. There is a lighter weight yarn that can be used for certain projects requiring differences in the yarn as well as lighter weight for Spring and Summer use. What can you make with the lighter weight yarn you ask? There are many wonderful projects that you can make by using 100% Cotton yarn instead of the typical 100% Acrylic yarn.

Sneak Peak of my dining set - It's not complete yet.

Right now, I'm designing a dining set. It will be a complete matching set that includes: Placemats, Coasters, Napkins and Napkin Rings, Centerpiece, Small and Medium sized Hot pads, Casserole size Hot Pad, Pot Holder and Dish Cloth. Everything will match and is machine washable. The one great thing about these products are that they are so versatile. A wash cloth or dish cloth can be used as a coaster (if its a round cloth), a planter coaster, a napkin, hot pad or pot holder etc.

What will your usage of these items be.

You pick and decide what you want them to be!

One more thing, if you are wanting to make pot holders and hot pads, 

you MUST use 100% Cotton yarn!

If you use the acrylic yarn, (the most common yarn sold in stores)

 the heat will melt and scorch the yarn and you could 

burn yourself or have your tables or counters damaged.
